Tommy Carruthers JKD IFO SG: Nico Yeo

Tommy Carruthers JKD IFO SG: Nico Yeo Demo 2015

In this demo you can see the ability to read opponent’s subtle motions through awareness, along with this understanding of the principle of interception.

Jeet-Kune-Do ultimately means the way of the intercepting fist or foot, basically three timings in which an attack can take place- before, during and after of opponent’s attack.

Before meaning to attack on your opponent’s preparation.

During is referred to as simultaneous attack and defence. This method is initiated once an attack has been launched and we’re attacking and defending simultaneously.

After, is on your opponent's commitment of attack and recovery. Once he’s committed to attacking we’re borrowing his moment of commitment and flowing with his recovery, you score with a hit into your opponents.

Usually we can initiated by luring an opponent into committing to a move. You must induce the opponent to step forward to tempo into the "within distance" area, for instance, by leaving an apparent opening. Then you time his attack, and nail him while he is stepping forward. This method is known as "Attack By Drawing" http://www.jkd.com.sg/
